The Tea That Changes Lives: Iaso Tea® Reviews and Results

The makers of Iaso Tea® claim that their formula is a “miracle tea.” They state just two cups of their unique herbal blended tea has helped tens of thousands of people cleanse their bodies.

Where are these claims founded?

What makes Iaso Tea® one of the highest-selling detox teas on the market today?

Total Life Changes claims their tea blend is the best weight loss tea for seeing maximum results.

In this article, we’ll dive into Iaso and find out what it’s all about.

Detoxification supplements and teas, including Iaso®, claim to flush the toxins out of your system.

As you lose weight with the tea, toxins such as fat cells, are flushed from your body.

The ideal result: a leaner, cleaner body.

Detox teas are not a permanent lifestyle change. Instead, many people use them as a kick start to a healthier diet or to drop weight quickly.

What is Iaso® Tea?

What is Iaso® Tea?

Iaso® Tea is an herbal blend that contains myrrh, chamomile, ginger, papaya, 2 types of thistle, marsh mallow, malva, and persimmon. Some of these herbs work as a rapid laxative, which will empty your upper and lower intestines.

They recommend you drink one 8-ounce glass of Iaso® Tea with meals twice daily for best results—and an additional 4-ounce glass with a snack for an added boost.

Because the tea works like an aggressive laxative, do not consume more. You should also make sure you’re doing something to restore your body’s electrolyte balance and hydration as you use this tea.

WARNING: When your body experiences a big swing in fluid levels, potassium, sodium, and calcium balance can become dangerous and even life-threatening. You can read more about that here.

Making the tea is somewhat complicated and needs to be done at least 4 hours in advance.

Brew two tea bags in 1 quart of water once at a rolling boil. Let it steep for 4-8 hours (the longer, the stronger) before adding another 3 quarts of cold water.

Iaso Tea® does have an instant blend that might better suit your lifestyle. However, many users have reported it is not as effective.

How Does Iaso Tea® Work?

How Does Iaso Tea® Work?

Iaso® Tea was designed with a blend of 9 essential herbs they claim will aid you in detoxification, weight loss, and digestive issues.

Persimmon leaves Holy Thistle Malva Leaves Marsh Mallow Blessed Thistle Papaya Ginger Chamomile

Let’s take a look at some of the key ingredients to determine if these claims live up to their reputation.

Persimmon Leaves

Persimmon is used for medicinal purposes including constipation, high blood pressure, and improving blood circulation.

Tannins in persimmon may have anti-allergic, antibacterial, and free radical scavenging activities. Due to these properties, persimmon may have beneficial effects on blood flow, hypertension, and even diabetes.

Unfortunately, we could not find any information that supports persimmon leaves for weight loss in humans.

Persimmon and Metabolism

The final published study set out to find just how much of an impact persimmon has on the metabolism. Three separate species of persimmon were tested and compared in this study.

The trial was done on rats with a high-fat diet over the course of ten weeks. Some were given a placebo while others were given one of the persimmon varietals.

The first variety, Hiratanenashi, was found to have an advantageous effect on cholesterol and fatty acid levels.

The second variety, Hachiya, was somewhat less effective. And the third variety, Fuyu, had nearly no effect on the body whatsoever. Iaso Tea does not publish what kind of persimmon they use, so we can’t draw conclusions in this case.

Papaya Seeds

Papaya seeds do appear to have some activity in the gut. However, that activity has nothing to do with weight loss.

Papaya seeds may have anthelmintic properties (meaning it expel worms) and have been used for their medicinal properties for centuries.

One pilot study was tested on the effects of papaya seeds and honey to treat children known to have parasites. After only a 7-day period, 74-100 percent of the parasites were extracted.

Another in vitro study done on papaya seeds found that they contain antiamoebic properties as well.

Chamomile

In one study, the goal was to determine the effects of chamomile tea on the total antioxidant count (TAC) of subjects with lower levels.

Subjects were either given water or tea and tested for TAC counts beforehand, 30 minutes afterward continuously until 80 minutes after ingestion.

Subjects’ TAC levels spiked around 30 minutes after consuming tea, whereas subjects with water experienced no change.

It has been widely suggested that these antioxidant modules play a major role in the diet-led prevention of stress-related chronic diseases.

The final findings indicate that tea such as Chamomile does, in fact, give your immune system a boost with the aid of free radicals.

Malva Leaves

Both the flowers and the leaves of the Malva plant are used for their strong antibacterial effects against certain digestive issues.

While the findings concluded that Malva could be considered a successful dual anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial candidate, it does not encourage weight loss.

This clinical study focuses on determining the correlation between Malva Leaves and how the body is able to digest.

Acetic acid was introduced to male rats over a period before to test the effects of Malva on the spleen, body weight, colon, and intestines.

Afterward, Malva was given to some of the rats to get a clear understanding of how it works on the intestinal system.

It was concluded that the leaf possesses both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The findings suggested that Malva could be beneficial for intestinal damage when given orally.

Other Ingredients in Iaso® Tea

Now that you know a little more about the main active ingredients in Iaso Tea let’s examine the other ingredients at a glance.

Each of these components was selected due to their ability to work together to create the optimal detox for you.

  • Blessed Thistle is a diuretic, which means it increases the amount of salt and water flushed out in your urine.

  • Marsh Mallow forms a protective layer on your digestive tract helping to reduce inflammation and ease symptoms of heartburn.

  • Ginger contains chemicals that may reduce the nausea associated with motion sickness.

Reviews: What Are People Saying?

After scouring the internet, it’s clear that the reviews from Iaso® Tea users are a toss-up.

A wide variety of users found the tea extremely helpful in achieving their weight loss goals, but many complained about the laxative effect of the herbs.

Others simply didn’t see any changes in their body one way or another.

Let’s take a look at what some people around the web had to say about Iaso® Tea.

Been on the tea for 3 days, I love it no bad taste and inches is what I notice first. I have always had a tummy after having 4 kids but now tummy is going down. I changed my eating and drink a lot of water from all the bathroom trips–don’t want to get dehydrated. DietSpotlight

I am in my 3rd week. This didn’t work at all. I haven’t lost any weight. Next time I will read the reviews first before spending my money on something like this. For those that had lost some weight maybe it was because they were constipated or had a lot of water weight. I don’t have water weight and don’t suffer from constipation. It has good flavor. Amazon

Everything is not for everybody! This tea is not for me. I could even get past the bland taste; however, after drinking this tea twice as following directions, I started getting sick. So this tea is not for me. Amazon

A Closer Look at Iaso® Tea

A Closer Look at Iaso® Tea

While some of the ingredients do seem to be beneficial to digestive health, not all of the claims Iaso Tea makes can be confirmed.

Actual human trials would need to be done on both the individual ingredients as well as the complete proprietary formula.

Persimmon has been proven to work as a dietary aid depending on which varietal is used. Iaso Tea does not give that information. Nor does it offer the exact recipe to the public.

More research needs to be done on just about every component of the formula. Not to mention, the actual combination of ingredients themselves.

Unfortunately, it’s too hard to tell whether Iaso Tea will work as intended.

When introducing any dietary supplement or detox aid into your body, talk to your doctor beforehand. Especially when using one whose main strategy is that of a laxative.

Beware of Laxative (Cathartic) Herbs

Cathartic herbs are present in this tea as well as many other detoxification aids. These herbs act as laxatives and have the potential to leave you dehydrated.

There is a high potential for abuse and misuse of these types of supplements. Be sure to follow the guidelines according to the manufacturer’s labeling.

Iaso® Tea is not recommended for nursing or pregnant women. If you have any underlying conditions, you may want to talk to your doctor before using any detox supplement.
